Add "Merge by Ticket ID" Option on Ticket Screen

Dear Zoho Team,

We would like to request a new feature for the ticket interface in Zoho Desk. Specifically, we propose adding a button to the ticket screen that allows users to merge the current ticket with another ticket by directly providing the second ticket's ID.

Current Scenario

Currently, merging tickets requires locating both tickets, marking them, and then clicking the "Merge" button. While this process works, it can be time-consuming in cases where we already know the ID of the second ticket and want to quickly merge it with the ticket we are viewing.

Suggested Enhancement

  • Add a "Merge by Ticket ID" button or field to the ticket interface.
  • Clicking this button or entering the ticket ID would directly perform the merge, streamlining the workflow.
  • Ensure that the merge retains all the usual rules and safeguards (e.g., warning messages, confirmation prompts, etc.).

Benefits

  • Saves time and effort when merging tickets, especially in cases where the second ticket ID is already known.
  • Improves efficiency for agents handling large ticket volumes.
  • Reduces the risk of errors associated with locating tickets manually.

We believe this feature would significantly enhance the user experience and improve productivity in Zoho Desk.
