Hello everyone!
In the latest iOS (v1.11.3) version of the Bigin app, we have introduced the following features:
- Card Scanner
- Initiating WhatsApp conversations.
Card Scanner:
Our new Card Scanner feature extracts contact information from business cards. Simply scan or take a photo of a business card, and the app will populate the details into the appropriate fields on the 'Add contact' form and save them as contacts on the Bigin app.
I. Supports Multiple Languages:
We have supported a total of 16 languages, using which you can access the Card Scanner feature. The following is the list of supported languages:
English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, Danish, Norwegian Bokmål, Hungarian, and Russian.
II. Quick Navigation Support:
Quick navigation support has been added to the Lock Screen widget and Control Center widget. Clicking the 'Scan Contact' widget will directly open the camera in Bigin app to scan a card.
Initiate WhatsApp Conversation:
You can quickly start a WhatsApp conversation with your contacts by clicking the ‘+’ icon in the messages module. You can choose the respective contact from the contact list and send a template message right away.
We have also brought in support for a few enhancements to the Messages module on the Bigin mobile app:
I. Template icon in existing conversations:
In ongoing conversations, a template icon will be available near the message composer, allowing you to easily select and send a template message.

II. Messages tab enhancement:
From the record details view, you can now select the 'Send template' option in the messages tab to start a conversation with a template message directly.
If a conversation already exists for a contact, the 'New Message' option will be displayed. Clicking this option will directly navigate to the conversation detail view if a single phone number is associated with the record. If multiple phone numbers are associated with the record, a list of phone numbers will appear upon clicking 'New Message.'
The '+ Add Mobile Number' option will appear in the messages tab for contacts with no phone number. Clicking this option will directly navigate you to the first phone number field (if you have multiple phone number fields) in the edit form.
III. Direct navigation to conversations:
You can also tap the WhatsApp quick action icon or the phone number in the phone number field of the records details screen, which will navigate to the conversation view for the WhatsApp-integrated accounts.
