Changing the display type of view to "Grid" does not work

Changing the display type of view to "Grid" does not work

Should I have chosen "Grid" as a display type when I created the view? I tried to change the type from List to Grid, but the view was same. I changed to Calendar and Summary, and they worked fine.

Is it an expected behavior?
