Trying to do a simple combination chart and running into some issues.

Trying to have a single view show me side by side, how many tickets opened in a month and how many tickets were closed in that same month.

To make it simpler, I am only going to view the last 3 months of data via 2 filters

Example below shows Tickets closed

Example below shows tickets created

When I try add both measures to the Y axis, it tells me that I need to add something to the X axis

ok, fair enough, how about just show me the count of how many tickets in the X axis? 

Now it shows data as a scatter and wont let me change back to a bar view, also the data looks to be right in places and wrong in others.

OK, well how about using month and year for the X axis, and then just show me a count of tickets closed and opened

Then some how, the numbers show as identical..

What I thought would be a pretty simple thing to show side by side seems to be a lot more troublesome than I thought, Some assistance would be appreciated.
