contacts from zoho crm not syncing back to outlook

I had the outlook plugin working on an old windows 7 computer with outlook 2010.  I have now installed the plugin on outlook 2016 running in windows 10.  There are a few contacts that are in zoho that for some reason aren't in my outlook list.  The plugin makes no attempt to bring them into outlook when it runs though.

Any thoughts?

It also appears that changes I'm making to a contact on the outlook side aren't being made to the zoho side.  As a quick experiment I added some gibberish to the notes of a contact in outlook that appears in both platforms - but the note change does not get updated.
