Creator, CRM and Reports

Hi we use creator linked in with our zoho crm, We have a database which lists our customers equipment and we have a report that groups equipment to the customer. The problem is once you do this I cannot find a way to search by the contacts details. We could when we did not group. Is this a fault or am i missing something?
