Custom 'Form Variable' with OnChange Script
Hi again Zoho Creator Developers,
Just as you have implemented the custom variable whose scope is only within that field.
Could we have a custom 'form variable' exactly like the form fields, that is defined across the whole form/application, but does not have an input field tied to it.
Just a simple variable whose scope is across the entire application.
Importantly, it would have an Onchange--> action script
Currently any On User Input --> Script can only be used for a form field
This is a disadvantage, as this can only be specific in that form, not to mention time lags in actually populating fields. [client-serverside]
But 'form variable' can have an Onchange Script across the application, much like a function.
Presently ZC is limited to relationship-type application , much like a database and two-dimensional in a way.
Introducing this kind of variable, would enable 'Global Criteria' for the application, which can have multiple levels/layers.
Basically, you can reprogram the world with this..
This would make ZC very very powerful, and an undoubted competitor among parellel platforms.
It would be great to see this rolled out.
