Custom Scheduler not working for add record

I have a script that adds records to a table. I had created a custom schedule on 27th July with following settings to see if it works:
Start Date: 28th July, 2014
Time: 00:00 EST

Repeat: Frequency: Monthly, Day of Month: 28th.

I expected the script to run and add records on the 28th July but it did not. (When I click on 'Execute Now' in the scrip builder for this script does not give any errors and the records get added successfully). Am I missing something here? Any pointers will be helpful.
