Customer Portal User Groups
We are just about to try out customer portal but immediately found that without user groups for permissions we either have to create multiple applications or customer portal does not work for us.
Is there a way to set up group permissions in customer portal? We have many levels of people we work with and wanted to use portal for multiple groups of people. It seems this might not be possible with customer portal. The portal assumes your customers are all the same.
We wanted to use portal for
- New Potential clients. They should see their quote.
- Actual Clients who have purchased. They should see their order and a few other resources.
- Vendors. They should see their orders etc.
Clearly a vendor should not see a customers quote and a customer should not see our orders for a vendor.
Is there plans or is there a way to set multiple permission levels in customer portal?
Right now it seems like a cool feature but ultimately useless for anyone other than a very small organization.
