Download Issue With Google Gears

I'm running OSX 10.3.9 with Firefox 2.0.0.12.

When I click "Go Offline" in Zoho Writer, it instructs me to download and install Google Gears. At the end of the download, it tells me to restart Firefox. When I do, Firefox crashes on restart.

So I restarted manually. When I went back to Zoho Writer, it still wanted me to download and install Google Gears when I tried to go offline with my doc. Not sure what the issue is, but I'm trying out this program and haven't been all that impressed thus far. I'm hoping for some help.
