email address

I just created a new account. During that process the script replied that my absolutely, completely accurate and valid e-mail address ( hope.greenberg@uvm.edu) was not valid. Fortunately I had another e-mail address that I could use but if it was objecting to the period between hope and greenberg this is obviously a bug!
