Enable Free External Collaboration on Notecards in Zoho Notebook

Enable Free External Collaboration on Notecards in Zoho Notebook

Hi Zoho Notebook Team,

I would like to suggest a feature enhancement regarding external collaboration in Zoho Notebook.

Currently, we can share notes with external users, and they are able to view the content without any issue. However, when these external users attempt to comment or collaborate on notecards, they receive the message:
"Upgrade your current plan to collaborate in notecards."

This feels inconsistent with other Zoho products. For example, in Zoho Writer, we can share documents with external (non-Zoho) users and collaborate with them (including comments and edits) without any plan upgrade or restriction.

It seems strange that external collaboration is freely supported in Zoho Writer, but not in Zoho Notebook, especially since both are core productivity tools within the Zoho ecosystem.

Feature request:
Please add to the Zoho Notebook Free tier the ability for external users (non-Zoho licensed users) to collaborate on Notebooks that were created by Zoho-licensed users. This should include at least basic collaboration features such as commenting.

Use case:
Teams often share notes with partners, customers, freelancers, and external collaborators who do not have Zoho accounts. Notebook is a perfect tool for shared knowledge, documentation, and idea boards, but the current restriction prevents real collaboration and limits its practical usage compared to Zoho Writer.

This change would greatly improve cross-organization collaboration and align Zoho Notebook’s capabilities with the rest of the Zoho productivity suite.

Thank you for considering this request.

Best regards,
Ram
