Footnotes please

Congrats on zoho-writer, it is a fantastic tool.

Maybe I'm an idiot and just can't see it, but it doesn't seem like there is a footnote feature in zoho. As a student, this is a bit of a deal-breaker for me.

It would be pretty simple to add a basic footnote function, similar to the one in MSWord. But it would be great to see something a bit more advanced for those of us who spend more time writing footnotes than text.

For instance, a seperate pane with fields to enter author, title, year, page, and then the option to select a reference that you have entered previously. Given the plethora of referencing formats out there, it would be difficult to do, but would give zoho a huge advantage because MS's footnoting is totally crap and all the third-party bibliographic managers are very user-unfriendly.

Whether or not the bibliographic manager component is realistic, I think that footnoting is a bare-minimum for anyone who wants to use this in an academic environment.
