Gmail integration Attaching internal emails - no summary of communication

We have configured the email Gmail integration.  Couple of issues:

We have excluded our internal domain so that internal emails are not attached as it is explained. Everyone's internal emails are connecting to the individuals contact record.  If the exclusion domain is set, why is this happening??

Not being able to see a summary view of the email communication is a waste.  I have 5 users, I need to use the drop down to maneuver through every choice and keep track - to see the actual communication thread, as we are growing and adding additional users to this will make it to much...... .  Can there be a summary option?
