How do I remove public access for a document in Writer?

There has been several queries from users on ways to delete or remove public access for a document that they have accidentally published it. Do remember that once you have made a document public it would allow anyone to view the document. Moreover they may even get crawled by search engines like Google, Yahoo etc.

Users also cannot delete the document once they have made it public. The only way to delete the document is to first "Cancel Public Sharing" for the particular document and then proceed with delete operation. Here's how you can revoke public sharing of a document:

# Open the public document in your writer editor.

# Click on "Publish" link and choose "Cancel Public Sharing" option from the drop down menu.

Once you do the above operation the document is removed from your public folder and it cannot be accessed by anybody. You can proceed with the delete option if you wish by clicking on the delete button present at top left. Please refer to the attached image for details.
