How I've been using Zoho Writer!

I'm a new user of Zoho Writer. Haven't gotten into it all that deep yet, but I'd like to express how wonderful it's been to personally hear from Arvind and Sridhar--BIG respect from me for giving that extra touch to what is already a great product.

I work for Linden Lab, which develops the online world Second Life--secondlife.com--and recently, I got a new LCD monitor, a Samsung Syncmaster 204B. How does this relate? Well, my text got SO much crisper from my blurry old CRT, and at the same time, I've been looking for better collaborative solutions to work on documents together with coworkers. I missed out on the Writely signups (while it's being integrated with Google), but then from Wikipedia, I found out about Zoho!

I thought, "What a fun name... and what an easy signup process!" and so in I came. I haven't actually done much collaboration with Zoho, but as a convenient text editor, it's EXTREMELY welcome.

I love, I LOVE the history because it shows how long you've been working on a doc, and you can "snapback" to a past revision. If you erased any good bits which showed up earlier, just bring 'em in. HIGHLY refreshing.

The whole interface is clean, altho I wish I had more control over specifying the theme colors.

So, what I've been doing is writing documentation for Second Life's new features using Zoho Writer. Very easy to get control of what I want to do, and convenient to tuck it out of the way when I have to do something else. It's more elaborate than Notepad, more elegant than WordPad, less cumbersome than Word, that's for sure!

It's gotten to the point where I wish every text edit field, like THIS one, was done in Zoho Writer. I wish I could integrate it into my torley.blog-city.com site too.

Well, thanxies to you nice peeps responsible for Zoho Writer... I hope to check out the other apps too!!! ROCK ON!!! :D
