If statement and multiselect/Checkbox

Hi,

Can you apply an if statement to multiselect/checkbox fields? It doesn't give the option to apply any scripting to the field? Is there a work around for this. I want to be able to apply a condition (e.g. hide field) on the basis of a multiselect selcetion?

Any ideas please?
