Hello users,
Spain has introduced the VeriFactu system under Real Decreto 1007/2023 to ensure integrity, traceability, and anti-fraud compliance in e-invoicing. Starting January 1, 2026, all B2B invoices must be reported to Agencia Estatal de Administración Tributaria(AEAT) immediately through VeriFactu, and from July 2026, this requirement will also apply to B2C transactions. Zoho Books now supports VeriFactu through an integration with B2Brouter.
How VeriFactu Works in Zoho Books
When you create invoices in Zoho Books, they must be submitted to AEAT through the VeriFactu system for validation before they can be sent to customers. AEAT validates each invoice and marks it as:
Status | Description |
Accepted | The invoice has been validated by AEAT and officially recorded. |
Pending | AEAT has received the invoice, but validation is still in progress. |
Rejected | The invoice contains errors or missing details and must be corrected and resubmitted. |
When an invoice is accepted, AEAT sends back an acknowledgement with a QR code. Zoho Books automatically attaches this QR code and acknowledgement to the invoice PDF and updates the status to Accepted.

Note: This support also extends to recurring invoices, invoices created from the Projects module, and correction invoices.
Regulatory Requirements
Once an invoice is submitted to AEAT, it becomes a permanent legal record and cannot be modified or deleted. Any changes such as returns or cancellations must be made through a correction invoice created in Zoho Books. This ensures audit integrity and compliance with the requirements of the anti-fraud law.
Availability and Pricing
- When you sign up for B2Brouter on your own, you must pay an activation fee and choose a plan based on your business needs. But if you create your B2Brouter account through Zoho Books, the activation fee is waived, your first 50 transactions are free, and you can purchase more only when needed.
- We’ve added support for the VeriFactu system in Zoho Billing, Zoho Inventory, and Zoho Invoice to help businesses comply with Spain’s anti-fraud law.
