In my Zoho CRM, using Google Chrome, next to all of Contacts' phone numbers is a little telephone icon. I am in the United States. Hovering mouse above this icon displays "Call using Skype ". However, when using this feature, the phone number passed to Skype has a "+" symbol inserted to the beginning of it. So for example, if the phone number on a contact is (212)555-1212, the number is passed to Skype as +2125551212. To Skype, this is an invalid phone number. Since the plus is there, Skype assumes there should be a country code right after and the call fails. Skype does have a default country code setting, which seems to be bypassed by this Call using Skype feature. Now, if we enter all of our phone numbers into Zoho like this: 1(212)555-1212 it will work. Does Zoho recommend adding phone numbers in this format? Is there any known work-around?
