Lost events due to CRM and Calendar Sync - need reply on best practice or solution

Background info:
Our business uses Zoho CRM with the CRM Mail plug in. We are 100% using Zoho CRM calendar with all appointments. Basically we "live all day in Zoho CRM" doing all our task

Issue:
I receive an email in my CRM email tab with a scheduled invite from a customer. I click on the event "Yes" I am attending and it does not go to my CRM calendar

Weird solution but does not work:
I have to open the Zoho Calendar from the email invite link and click I am attending, which adds the event to my Zoho Calendar (this is the calendar I do not use but do have sync'ed to my CRM). Is ther not a sync from Zoho Calendar back to Zoho CRM calendar. Is the sync not two way?

So it seems like best practice is to create a new CRM event to my CRM calendar and ignore any email invites I get since the sync's do not seem to work. Is this correct?
