Map Dependency Fields enhancements are available in CA, SA, JP, CN, and UAE DCs. 

We’ve introduced a set of enhancements to Map Dependency Fields to make setup simpler, faster, and more intuitive.

Map Dependency helps control how values appear across related fields. Based on the selection in a parent field, we define which options are available in the child field. This keeps data structured and ensures only relevant choices are shown at each step.

Let’s take a closer look at each of these updates.

1. Easy access

Map Dependency is now easier to find and access.

1. It now appears as a tab on every module configuration page.
   
   
   

1. It can also be accessed directly from the picklist field on the layout editor page. Just hover over any picklist field, open More Options, and select Create Map Dependency.
   
   
   

Notes:

1. The layout must have at least two fields, either 2 picklists or 2 radio buttons.
2. Multiselect picklist can only act as a child field.
   

2. Change Layout Selection

The layout can now be selected and changed directly while creating a map dependency, without restarting the setup. Previously, the layout from the list view filter was applied by default.

3. Organized Field Categories

Fields are now grouped by type when selecting a parent field.

1. Additionally, Subform fields are displayed with the subform name in brackets.
2. Multi-select picklists are supported only as child fields.
   
   
   
   

4. Better Value Selection

Options are now selected only when clicked, giving better control during setup.

1. For fields with fewer than 50 options, values can be selected from a dropdown or by switching to Advanced View.
   
   

1. For fields with 50 or more options, Advanced View opens by default, providing a side panel with a checklist.
   
   
   

In checklist view, group selection is now supported.

• Hold Shift and select a range to quickly choose multiple options.

This is especially useful when mapping long or consecutive value lists.

5. Preview for quick review

A new preview mode displays all mapped values in one place, making it easier to review before saving.

6. Faster Field Search

A search bar is now available to quickly locate the parent field, eliminating the need to scroll through long lists.

With these improvements and the refreshed UI, Map Dependency is now easier and quicker to work with, whether it's setting up simple mappings or handling large sets of values.
