Move from Windows OneNote to Zoho Notes
Dears,
currently, I am in the move from Windows OneNote to Zoho Notes. Reason is that I could not get familiar with the way, OneNote is designed to be used. I was looking for lternatives and now I am here :-)
I like the designs, the idea to organize notes to staples and staples in notebooks. The background is nice colored, the font is readable - but:
- When I copy text from a OneNote sheet, it losts all of its format. For example, if I have line seperated notes (eg flight details), Zoho Notes adds doublespace between the lines which seems not to be correctable in Zoho Notes for Windows. I need to go to the webinterface of Zoho, where I can manually remove the doublespaces, that has been added during the import.
- The fonts used in the webinterface seems not to be the same that are being used for notes in the Windows client
- In the Windows client, it looks like there is no scroll bar in case of longer notes that extends the size of the sheet
- During the copy process, Zoho Notes put words together which were blank seperated in the original file (eg This is a word --> thisis a word.
This leads to some questions
- Are the formatting-issues I faced, wellknown and are being addressed, reviewed?
- Is the formatting really different in notes taken on eg Notes for Android, Notes on Zoho Web and Zoho Windows Client? Can that be streamlined?
- It would be eyecandy to have the possibility to add a backgroundcolor or patterns or a picture on the books overview :-)
- Will you add a webclipper for Firefox?
- Will you add on all versions the possibility to change paragraph (single space, double space, 1.5, ...pt before, pt after ...
I understand that for purists this may be unnecessary bells and whistles but imho a good looking note tool should make it easy to produce good looking notes with a easy to read font and well designed paragraps and general easy to read layut.
I try now to get familiar with Zoho notes :-)
--- Ah, one last point: Is Zoho notes correctly designed for Android tablets? Because the installer says, it could be, that the app is not designed for your device ...
Best regards,
Peter
