Hi all,

Last quarter I filed a BAS report, which resulted in a claim of $1000. The ATO mistakenly paid $800 instead of $1000, and left a $200 'credit' on my ATO account. (sigh. don't ask :-)

Normally I would go into Bank Feeds, click the payment, do a manual categorization ('Tax Claim'), select the relevant matching BAS report and save.

This time, if I try to do that, the $800 payment in the bank feed does not match the BAS report outstanding claim, the system will not let me save the entry, with error message "The total amount does not match with that of the uncategorized transaction.".

I will also encounter this issue again, when the ATO reconciles the $200 credit in their system against next quarter's BAS report result.

BAS is due today, so hoping another last-minute-Charlie is online and knows how to sort this :-)

QUESTION: has anyone figured out how to do a partial or split payment for tax claims and/or payments?

hope this all makes sense.
