Paste from clipboard/Insert Todays Date

I am playing with Zoho Writer to see if I can recommend it to my clients. I could not copy & paste text form other websites or documents. Is this a bug or not a feature in the current beta version? I can paste from the clipboard into this forum document.

I also could not find a way to insert the current date into the document.
