How does the Codeless bot builder & Plug work?

The Codeless bot builder in SalesIQ lets you visually create chatbot flows using prebuilt cards. However, when you need an action that isn’t available in the default card gallery, such as connecting to an external service, you can use a plug.

A plug is a connector that defines a custom action or integration with Deluge and webhooks. Once configured, it appears inside the Codeless Bot Builder just like any other card.

In this case, the plug acts as a bridge between your SalesIQ bot and your Zia Agent. It sends the visitor’s input to Zia, retrieves the AI-generated response, and passes it back into the chatbot flow, allowing your SalesIQ bot to have natural, intelligent conversations powered entirely by Zia.

Setting up Zia Agents in SalesIQ chatbot

Step 1 – Create a Zia Agent

  1. Go to https://ziaagents.zoho.com/
  2. Create your Zia Agent or choose an existing one you’d like to integrate with SalesIQ.
  3. Copy the following details from your Zia Agent headers:
    1. Zia Org ID - X-ZIAAGENTS-ORG
    2. Zia Agent ID - X-ZIAAGENTS-AGENT-ID

Step 2 – Import the sample bot

  1. In your SalesIQ portal, navigate to Settings > Bots > Zobot > Add > Import.
  2. Upload the downloaded .zip file to import the sample bot integrated with Zia Agents.

Step 3 – Configure the plug

  1. After importing, go to Settings > Developers > Plugs.
  2. Locate the plug named “ZiaAgents” and click Edit Code.
  3. Replace the placeholder values in lines 2 and 3 with your Zia Org ID and Zia Agent ID.
  4. Click Publish to save the plug.

  1. Open your imported bot’s flow, locate the Zia Agents plug (used twice in the flow), click each instance, and click Save.

Step 4 – Test & Deploy

  1. Preview the bot to ensure that responses are successfully fetched from your Zia Agent.
  2. Once verified, click Publish to deploy the chatbot on your website or connected channels.
