Scanning not available for Cutomer Portal

Hi all,

I have created a small app in Zoho Creator where i have 2 single line elements that support QR and Barcode scanning.
If I access the application through the Creator mobile app as a Zoho user, then I am allowed to scan as i get the relative icon next to the textbox.

If I try to access the app through a customer portal or customer mobile app then scanning is not available.

Has anyone had similar experience? Is there some setting that I am possibly missing?
