Spell Check in writer messes up the document

Spell Check in writer messes up the document

Hi,
When press the spell-check button, a portion of the document is messed up. Its partly normal text and partly html tags. Also it makes the font bold randomly. I tried using both firefox and ie, and the problem is still there.
I'm also not able to use the spell-check feature of Firefox.
