Student Conference Counts

Newbie here...

I have a form for student data in which I enter all demographics.

I have another form used for each conference we have with a student. In this I record the student name (pulled from the demographics form), date of conference and notes.

On the first form, I would like a field that calculates how many total conferences I've had with each particular student. It would also be nice if it could show me the dates of those, but this isn't a must-have. So, when I look at the demographics form I see all student information and how many conferences I've had with them and maybe when the last conference was.

Of course, I guess I could do this all with a report, but how?

Thanks for the help and sorry if this type of question has been asked a million times. I'd be happy if someone just directed me to a tutorial.
