I just signed up for Zoho Creator's 15 day trial period and am really enjoying it so far. Though I have a little problem I cannot figure out.

I need to have a form that creates unique IDs for its entries. I noticed that there is the "auto number" field for that, but I do have some issues that I cannot adress with this field.

1) I would need the field to be shown to the person who fills out the form (he shall pass along that ID so someone else can work with it)

2) The person might load the form, pass on the ID, but fill out the form 5 or 10 minutes later. So if the ID is only created "on success" of the form, he cannot know the number without filling it out in the first place and secondly if the ID is only validated on submission of the form it might be the case that another employee who loaded the form later, but submitted earlier gets the ID he passed on and then everything gets mixed up.

 

Does anyone of you have an idea how I could solve this problem? I would really appreciate it and it would be of great help.
