Update a field in one form when field is changed in another form

Update a field in one form when field is changed in another form

I have two forms one called application the other enrollment
Both forms have a field labeled status
I want the status field in the application form updated when the status field in the enrollment from changes
I do not to open the application record in order to have the field update
Any ideas
