when one updates consecutive records, it's very helpful to have the screen remain in place, showing the line just updated - instead of (the current default of) going back to the 1st record on page, and wasting time trying to find where you were.

on top of that, since Ctrl + Home/ Ctrl + End already brings the user to the top/ bottom of the page (respectively), it makes more sense to have the default being "stay where you are".
