Writer frequently pauses, loses my text

I posted about this issue in "Let us know about Writer" a few minutes ago but can't find my post. And I tried calling the 800 number and was referred to Technical Support, at which point I got the message, "The person at extension 6930 is not available. At the tone, leave a message." I did not.

There are two problems. One is that there are frequent one-second pauses while typing. The second is that frequently -- I would say it's happened 5-6 times in the 30 or so minutes I've been trying to work -- the following steps will occur:
1. The cursor will go from blinking to solid. Nothing I type will appear on screen.
2. I click onscreen (doesn't matter where). My cursor will change to the standard Windows hourglass. (This is in Windows XP 2 Version 5.1 Service Pack 2, Firefox 2.0.0.11.)
3. About 5 seconds will pass.
4. At most, the first character of whatever string I just typed will appear.
5. The little green flashing circle next to my document's name in the tab will begin spinning.

I just saved my document and the same thing happened (the 5-second pause).

My Internet connection tests between 3.7 and 4.5 million bps. At home, where I have a slower connection, I only use Zoho Writer for uploading and downloading -- it's unusable for typing within Zoho, it's so slow.

I am very frustrated. It used to be that writing in Zoho was pretty much identical to composing in MS Word, or Google Docs. I tried composing in Docs and got the 1-second pauses but not the 5-second pauses, and saving was much easier.
