Zoho Creator Accessibility

I'm interested in raising the awareness of web accessibility concerns within the Zoho Creator community.

Some people cannot use a mouse, including many older users with limited fine motor control and users with impaired vision. According to the World Health Organization 285 million people are estimated to be visually impaired worldwide; 8.3 million in the US alone. All U.S. government and most educational institutions are required to have their IT systems meet minimum accessibility guidelines.

Zoho Creator is a great tool and I think that all users, regardless of their physical challenges, should have the opportunity to participate in its use. At a minimum, the pages that we create in Creator should accessible to all our customers, even those with disabilities.

To that end I'm suggesting the following enhancements to Creator:

Priority 1: Low Effort/High Impact

Use LABEL markup appropriately for all form fields (see http://hr.umich.edu/webaccess/best/forms.html)
Use a skip-nav to bypass menus and sidebars (see http://hr.umich.edu/webaccess/best/nav.html#skipnav)
Use link names that will be meaningful when read out of context (see http://webaim.org/techniques/hypertext/#screen_readers)
Don't turn off the visible focus indicator (see http://webaim.org/blog/plague-of-outline-0/)
Use row markup (see http://hr.umich.edu/webaccess/best/tables.html)
Avoid small font sizes (see http://webaim.org/techniques/fonts/#intro)

Priority 2: Higher Effort/High Impact

Provide accessibility information as part of the documentation
Use nested headings appropriately (see http://hr.umich.edu/webaccess/best/nav.html#headings)
Ensure that accessible event handlers are used (see http://webaim.org/techniques/javascript/eventhandlers)
Use good color contrast (see http://hr.umich.edu/webaccess/best/color.html)
Use accessible strategies for communicating the presence of errors (see http://webaim.org/techniques/formvalidation/#error)
