Zoho CRM Outlook Plugin Automation

We have been trialling Zoho CRM for a period of time and are very impressed with the features on offer. We primarily use Outlook for customer contact and would like a convenient way to synchronise everything between CRM and Outlook.
1. I have installed the Outlook plugin trial and it works reasonably well, however it would be great if there were a way to automate the sync (Calendar, Tasks and Contacts) process to happen, say, daily.
2a. We would like to centralise all sent and received emails. I see that the Plugin can add emails to CRM, but this seems to be a very manual process and doesn't make a lot of sense to do it for every single email.
2b. As an alternative to this, in the description of the Zoho Mail add-on for CRM, it states: "Send and receive emails simultaneously in CRM and your favorite POP-based email client".
Would this mean that emails sent and received by Outlook can be made to automatically appear in CRM? Received mail is easy, but how would this be achieved for sent mail? Our email is POP/SMTP-based.
We are happy to pay for any relevant plugins and add-ons. I look forward to your response.
