Zoho: Sign: date field entry. Why can't I just type it in?!

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can not figure out how to set up a date field that allows a user to simply type in the date.  Currently must use the mouse to select.  This is not only awkward and takes forever to enter a simple date, but many users simply get lost in the date entry area and just put the wrong date.  For Date of Birth, for example, it takes forever to find a year that is 7 decades ago, then select the month, then date (seriously?!). 

Am I missing the way to set the date field to allow for keyboard entry?
