Zoho Sprints 2023 - Q1 Updates

Zoho Sprints 2023 - Q1 Updates

Greetings everyone!

The first set of updates have been rolled out for 2023. This quarter is an exciting one for us because Zoho Sprints is now a ISO 9001 certified product. This grading has been provided after an external audit conducted by a third party certification body. With this great news, let's dive into the most recent enhancements and new features.

We'll take a quick look into the following updates:
  • Setting up a recurring item
  • Adding replies and reactions to comments
  • Collaborating through the Zoho Writer extension
  • Syncing default priority levels with Zoho Projects
  • Accessing a comprehensive spreadsheet view of work items
  • Associating releases while adding log hours
  • Integrating with Zoho Notebook

Recurring item

Automating your work item creation process for repetitive tasks has now become simple. The Recurring Item extension is a simple scheduling system. It enables you to set up an automation to create a work item repetitively at specific intervals within a stipulated time frame. It equips you with a scheduler that helps you eliminate the need to manually create the same item over and over again. Learn how to install and use the Recurring Item extension.

Replies and reactions

Like any social media platform, Zoho Sprints enables you to leave replies to comments and add reactions to them using popular emojis. This helps you keep the communication simple and get the team involved.

The members of your organization can leave comments on an item, project, sprint, or epic to share feedback, acknowledge an activity, provide update, or applaud a fellow member. This sort of interaction is direct and efficient.

Zoho Writer extension

We're now extending support to Zoho Writer, a cloud-based word processor, to help you incorporate documents into your work items. Documentation has an important place in any process. We will rely on documentation to record details, maintain specifications related to our work, put down ideas, and collate data. When team members have documents like these, it becomes vital to share the information across for various purposes.

You can create, edit, and attach documents related to your work items using this extension. This is an in-built ability that enables you to share and maintain details in documents. Learn how to install and use the Zoho Writer extension.

Priority level sync with Zoho Projects

The Zoho Projects integration now supports the syncing of work item priority levels. This means the default priority levels low, medium, and high are synced between the integrated items in Zoho Projects and Zoho Sprints.

Sheet view of work items

The sheet view feature opens work items that are in the backlog, board, epic, and release in the form of a spreadsheet. It comes as an ideal solution to view, maintain, and process data, and in turn obtain comprehensive results. Users can either "view" or "view and edit" the data in the sheet based on the permissions defined.

You can:
  • View Sprints work items in a spreadsheet
  • Add or update work items in bulk
  • Transform data into visual charts to evaluate them
  • Export the charts
  • Generate reports to get more insights
  • Arrive at quantitative conclusions using formulas

Associate release with log hours

Users can now associate the relevant release while adding log hours. Previously, users could only filter All and Work Item log types by releases. Now, General and Meeting log types can also be filtered by the associated releases.

Zoho Notebook integration

Add and view notes to your work items to share ideas, objectives, or critical information. Zoho Notebook is a cloud-based note-taking tool that works in tandem with Zoho Sprints. With the Notebook integration, you can take notes from within work items.  Learn how to install and use the Zoho Notebook  extension.
