Customizing: Contacts and/or Accounts for Family Law+
The operation is *primarily* but not exclusively business to consumer, and I need a way to create a "Case/Matter" that is, for all practical purposes, a client+project, and could be a "child neglect" Case, a "child custody" Case, or even a "breach of contract" Case where I would represent a company in some instances.
My clients are most often either a parent or a child/sibling group. And in most of these Cases I need a way to associate companies, state agencies, judges, court clerks, and witnesses for each side, for example:
In a child neglect/child welfare case, I need a way to create a case where I can have either a single client or multiple clients (sibling group).
I will also need a way to associate involved state agencies. For example, Department of Human Services on some cases involving child support, and Department of Children's Services on cases involving reports of child abuse/neglect.
With the Dept. of Children's Services, I will need a directory of people where I can assign one or more of them to a case, and the same applies to the Dept. of Human Services.
I will also need to be able to associate companies that provide medical services and the person or people from those companies that may be involved in any given case.
It seems that integration with Zoho Books causes contacts, accounts, or both to be brought in as "customers," so I'm not sure how I can set up what I need without customization, and I am not sure the best way to do this.
Do I eliminate "companies" and create a new module of "business/agency" and create one or more new modules?
For example . . . Create a new People, Company, Group, and Role modules (or just use pick lists for - A PEOPLE module that has the same information as a contact, and what company/agency they are currently with (pick list of companies/agencies)
- A COMPANY/AGENCY module for company information and the people who work there (pick list available in the "People" module?
- A GROUP for assigning the person to a group, such as Client, Attorney, DCS worker, Physician, Psychologist, Judge, or Court Clerk, etc. (pick list)?
- A ROLE (pick list for the specific case/project) for mother, father, maternal aunt, opposing fact witness, client fact witness, foster parent, etc."
For the "Client" group - Should I just rename Contact to Client, and keep separate lists for "people," "groups." and "roles," as mentioned above?
