images in Writer document do not show up when printed to PDF or exported to PDF

I have added an image to a Writer document.

When I print to PDF it does not show up in the PDF document generated. If I export to PDF, it has the same result.

If I export to Word, the image shows up fine. But I truly want the PDF format to work!

Any assistance?
