Is there a new CRM Interface / UI on the Horizon?

Staring at CRM all day, nothing "Pops." Would be nice to have updated, modern looking UI / interface.

Is this on the horizon?

I've seen this topic addressed previously.

In a perfect world, we could also change the way layouts are displayed based on record types.

i.e., IF it is a Potential of Type "A" - it would display a certain way with certain fields.

Or certain fields could be highlighted.
