Member Portal

I am attempting to create a member portal using sites but seems this might be above its abilities from this side. I can create a new user and signup however, it seems I can not redirect the user upon successful signin to a user area that is protected.

My goal was to create a user portal where my clients can sign in and see data from zoho CRM.
