Hello, Enterprise Support Community!
We have some exciting news to share about new updates to the integration between Zoho Creator and Zoho CRM, to bring it inline with recent enhancements made to Creator.
With enhancements to both the UI and functionality, you can now assign multiple developers, add users with defined permissions, and manage related lists more efficiently. This update also tightens access control by allowing Zoho Creator app owners to integrate their apps with Zoho CRM without needing Administrator access.
What's new in the integration?
1) The UI for integrating a custom app has been enhanced to align with Zoho Creator's recent updates.
2) You will now need to choose teamspaces to associate your creator applications because of the newest UI update from Zoho CRM's side.
3) Multiple developers can now be assigned an app.
4) Users permissions can be defined during the integration process, while new users can be added with these defined permissions to apps.
5) Zoho CRM now supports Environments in Zoho Creator.
6) Zoho CRM now restricts only Zoho Creator applications owners to perform the integration with updated permissions.
7) All related lists created during the integration will be automatically deleted once the application is deactivated from Zoho CRM.
Below we'll go into more detail about these enhancements, broken out between UI and Functionality.
UI Enhancements
1.Updated Integration Flow
The steps to integrate a Creator app with CRM have changed. You will now see the following steps in the UI:
- Customize Your Form
- Assign/Modify Developers
- Tab Permissions
- Set User Permissions
- Add Users
- Add Related List

2. Choose Teamspace Instead of Tab Group
With the new CRM UI, users must now select a Teamspace to associate their Creator app with. The option to select a custom tab has been removed if you are working on Zoho CRM's new UI.

Note: User who are in the old UI will still see the option to choose their tab groups while they integrate their custom apps.
Functionality Enhancements
1. Support For Multiple Developers
Previously, we allowed only one developer to be assigned to a creator app. Now, with this enhancement, you can assign multiple developers to your custom applications so that they are able to collaborate more efficiently. You can also add more developers to the custom app while editing the integration, if you need to assign additional resources to the project.

2. User Permissions for Creator Apps
You can define additional user permissions during the integration. CRM users added to the app will be assigned the permissions set in this step.
Default permissions will be listed here, and you can add new permissions if required, especially useful when you have a large number of users who can access the custom app.

3. Add Users Directly to Your Applications
Previously, we did not have this step where users would be added to the custom app. With this enhancement, you can now add users directly to Creator applications with the permissions defined in the previous step.

4. Environment Support
Like the CRM Sandbox, Creator now supports Development, Stage, or Production Environments for testing.
- Changes made in the Development environment must be pushed live from the Zoho Creator platform to reflect in Zoho CRM.
- If an environment is enabled for the app, the builder will be disabled within Zoho CRM, and such apps cannot be edited from CRM.
5. Integration Ownership Restriction
With these changes, only app owners in Zoho Creator can integrate apps into Zoho CRM. Users with shared access can no longer perform this integration.
6. Permission Requirements for Integration
Previously, we allowed users with only an Administrator profile to integrate their Zoho Creator apps with Zoho CRM. Now, users with any profile can perform the integration, as long as they have the following permissions enabled:
- Manage Extensibility to integrate Zoho Creator apps
- Manage Module Customization to create custom tabs.

7. Auto-deletion of Related Lists on App Deactivation
Earlier, if integrated custom apps are deactivated from within Zoho CRM, all related lists created during the integration remained visible. Now, when a Creator app is deactivated from within Zoho CRM, any related lists created through that integration will be automatically deleted.
Availability: This update is already available to all customers, in all DC's.
We hope that our Zoho Creator users will find these new changes useful for enhancing their capabilities and controls of their custom apps.
