In Setup -> Customization, you can edit/add/change fields and layouts for all the main objects such as Accounts, Products, Tasks, etc...

 

In my case, that works well for Product or Requests objects but doesn't work at all for Accounts and Contacts. All my customisation attempts are saved but are not applied.

 

Please fix this!
