Is it possible to include request fields in the User Portal, but not allow them to be edited by the user?

For example, we would like the end user to see the 'total cost' of a request if a cost to implement is needed, but when adding it to the user portal it allows the user to edit the field upon submission.

Can some request fields be view only to the user in the portal?
