Client specific prefix for Auto Increment

Client specific prefix for Auto Increment

Is it possible to have client specific prefixes for auto increment? The auto increment number would be specific to the customer prefix rather than global order.

e.g. (in order of creation, prefix in bold)

joebloggs_005
tomjones_002
tomjones_003
joebloggs_006
tomjones_004
tomjones_005
etc
