connection rejected server timed out using thunderbird
OK. Without my changing anything, several days ago, I'd try to get mail from pop/imap servers on mail.zoho.com account. My yahoo, gmail and all other accounts, connected to servers and downloaded the mail. The account on zoho.com did not. First it was sending a 'connection refused' error message. Then I did a bunch of research and then I found page stating that IMAP Port should be 995 (not the default in Thunderbird of 993), so I double checked and changed the 993 to 995.
Note: I do not recall ever changing this since I set it up a long time ago. I do not know if I had it set right before using port 995 and somehow Thunderbird caused it to reset back to default 993 or not.
After I reset it to 995, I closed the program and restarted. Program tried to get mail, but came back with new error of CONNECTION TO SERVER timed out. It seems likes it's timing out EXREMELY PREMATURELY and do not know how I can extend the TIME TO WAIT somehere to cause Thunderbird to WAIT FOR CONNECTION longer or not.
Main point is why? Why am I having to waste time fixing any of this ?
TELL ME THE TRUTH. Have you recently upgraded, changed or modified or had a failure of your servers, software or locations or anything like that to cause us to have mail and server access & connection failures that DID NOT EXIST before ?
OK. So, I also upgraded Thunderbird to the latest version and tried this all again. NO LUCK. Zoho.com is THE ONLY mail server that is NOT working and I need to know why, as soon as possible. I CAN'T WORK ON MY PROJECTS UNTIL THIS IS FIXED.
