Convey Your Ideas and Convince Your Audience with Zoho Show

Convey Your Ideas and Convince Your Audience with Zoho Show

Visual presentations are highly impactful and it is a no-brainer that your audience gets attracted to them. The use of images and videos help you reach your objectives by emphasizing your ideas more effectively.  According to the psychologist Jerome Bruner of New York University, "people only remember 10% of what they hear and 20% of what they read, but about 80% of what they see and do."

For example, if the above data on its own, was presented visually, there is an 80% chance that the information gets retained successfully.

This does not necessarily mean that filling your slides with bar graphs and pie charts is the only way to go. It is important that you find the right balance between communicating through visuals and content. That's why we're here to help you, by providing some tips.

Using Visual Aids with Zoho Show

  • It is necessary to use pictures to help you get your messages across. The good thing is that, Zoho Show's Library lists down all your recent uploads and you can add images stored on your computer as well. This way, your pictures stay organized and you can access them easily.
  • Grainy images are a big no-no ! Whether a picture or a logo, they can end up looking very amateur on your slides. If you've found a DSLR-esque image on the web, simply copy and paste its URL to insert it onto your slide.
  • It's time to say goodbye to the age old bullet points. They are a poor way to get your messages out there. Replace these points with visuals.  Do you want to add images stored in your Google Photos or Flickr account? There's no need to go through the hassle of saving a copy on your system and then importing them. You can directly add images to your presentation by linking these accounts to Zoho Show.
  • Relevance is key. Using images just for decorative purposes is a hindrance while conveying your ideas. Search the web instantly from Zoho Show with keywords to optimize your image results. Your images should always help in telling your story clearly to people.
  • Embed video clips to your presentation to increase your audience interest and engagement. This results in an emotional response and your audience will react to the feelings evoked in them rather than words.

PS: Before you add images or embed videos, make sure to obtain the permission of the copyright owner.

Next time you work on a presentation, try to incorporate these pointers. You'll be delivering effective presentations in no time!
