Customer Portal - turn-off the "my requests" feature

Can I remove the "my requests" tab from the customer portal?

We currently have a consumer help desk and would like to be able have consumers look-up answers in the knowledge based and submit requests online, but it would be confusing for them to see a "my requests" feature and require a login.   Can i remove it?
