Problems and errors importing employees (People v5)

We are setting up Zoho People for the first time and want to get employee data into the system as fast as possible. We have tried three different ways but they don't work.
  1. Using the Zoho One
  2. Using the Google Workspace integration
  3. Importing a csv file     
1. The most efficient way to get our existing employees into Zoho People would be to import them directly from a service that already has their data.  We tried the option of adding them from Zoho One but that didn't transfer all the employee's data into People. It just created an account for that person. Another problem with that method was, we would have to add each employee one at a time. Definitely not helpful at all.

2. Next we tried to add users from our Google Workspace with the "Users from Google Workspace can be added in Zoho People" option. It said we had to install the Zoho People app from the Google Apps Marketplace. We did that. It's all configured in Google Workspace. Everything looks fine on the Google end but Zoho People doesn't recognize that the app has been installed in our Google Workspace.

3. Our next option was to export our employee list from Zoho One and import it into Zoho People. When we tried we learned that People requires a "company" field (which makes absolutely no sense).  It doesn't say what goes in that field but we created a "company" column in the csv file and entered the name of our company. We tried to import the file and every entry has an error:

"Enter valid option for Company"

At this point we are ready to give up on Zoho People. There are no clarifications as to how to get employees into the system. The videos we have watched make everything look so easy but, they are obviously not using it in real-world conditions. We need answers to the following questions:

  1. What is the difference between an "employee" and "user" in Zoho People? We don't want every employee to use/have access the Zoho People application. We just need to manage our employees HR data.
  2. How do we get the Google Workspace integration to work? This is our preferred method for adding employees... if it actually works.
  3. What goes in company field when we import employees in a csv file? There is no documentation we can find about this error. and no details as to what value People expects us to enter. It's obviously not our company's name.
