Function to dynamically amend Opportunity Name

Good afternoon,

We are a property management company and when a prospective tenant (lead) makes an offer on a property, the system will convert the lead to a Contact and an Opportunity.

By default the opportunity is named "<TBC> - (First Name Last Name)"

The reason for this, is because often a tenant will opt for a different property early into the application process and our usual naming convention is based on the room number / property address and their name.

We have a module called "Units" and we have a module called "Properties". There may be multiple units linked to a property via a lookup field (apartments within a block for example) or there may just be one property and no associated unit. The Opportunity naming convention should be: -

Unit Name - First Name Last Name

or if there is no associated unit, then:

Property Name - First Name Last Name

I would like to be able to run this function manually in order to ensure all opportunities are named correctly in the first instance (there has been some manual entry over the past few months and not all opportunities are named as they should be), but then for the function to be set as part of a workflow, so once we confirm the unit/property they are applying for and send out the application, the function runs to change the opportunity name to the correct convention above.

Is it possible to do this?
