I can't use a Formula field anymore and want to ask about an alternative.

In my early days of using Zoho CRM, I created a custom field in my Contacts view with a Formula to 'look at' the Company Name and replicate it in the custom field (after I'd converted a Lead to a Contact, I then 'edited' and saved the Company Name field in the Contact View). This meant when I ran certain Contact Reports I could 'see' the Company Name and therefore export the report view to Excel for a mailing list. I noticed today that this has stopped working, so I need to find a way of letting me continue - help please?
